Career Choices for Individuals with Hearing Impairment in Higher Learning Institutions in Lusaka-Zambia

This study established the facilitators and barriers to career choices for persons with hearing impairment in selected workplaces higher institutions of learning Lusaka, Zambia. A qualitative approach a descriptive design were used study. In-depth interviews collect data from twenty (26) participants that included ten (10) students impairment, six (6) Lecturers individuals Hearing Impairment. The findings revealed there various elements influenced these communication which inhibited receipt information providers, pre-conceived ideas what Impaired (HI) individual can or cannot do, unavailability chances show self-efficacy determination among others. minimal efforts made by enhance HI students. recommended guidance should be offered secondary schools as routine advancement programme Impairment prerequisite applying admission colleges universities. Tertiary education must provide reasonable accommodations additional support able access information.
